Discipline Policy: In order to maintain a comfortable and safe learning environment where you are continually discovering and growing, you are expected to obey the RMS All School Rules, as well as to meet the classroom requirements. They can be summarized by being prompt (for class and with work), prepared (homework finished and ready to participate) and polite (practicing the six Pillars of Character). If you choose not to follow the requirements, the following consequences will take place: · Warning · Student-teacher conferences · Parent notification · Detentions · Severe misbehavior and/or persistent violations will result in office referrals

Grading Policy: Your grade for this class will be determined using a point system. The following items will contribute to your total points. · Bell work · Current Science Journals · Unit portfolios · Homework checks/signatures · Projects · Tests
Homework Policy:
The following criteria are expected to receive full homework points: · Homework is to be completed on time. · Late homework will not receive full credit unless due to an excused absence/reason. · If a class is missed due to band, orchestra, or a counselor meeting, it is your responsibility to find out the missed assignments that are to be completed for the next day. · All questions are fully answered, including the use of complete sentences when applicable. · Homework is neat and legible. · If all of these guidelines are not met, partial homework points will be given.
Absent Policy: If you are absent it is your responsibility to: · Check the classroom agenda and absent folders for missing assignments when you return to class. Copy notes missed from absent board. · If possible, set up a homework buddy that you can call or e-mail to find out what happened in class.
Extra Help: Students are encouraged to communicate their needs throughout the year, asking for help or clarification as often as necessary. If you are in need of extra help on a one-on-one basis, come to room 105 during any study day in advisory, or make arrangements to come in during lunch. Keep this syllabus as a reference!
